East End housing to create construction jobs - 03-07-2008 - 10:43
East End housing to create construction jobs Construction jobs could be created in a new East End housing scheme in London, according to reports.

A 29-storey residential building will be created in east London on 7.44 acres of space, reports SkyScraperNews.com.

The plans are part of a redevelopment project from Barratt Homes, with the firm saying the new homes in the 850-metre tall tower will have ideal views of Canary Wharf.

Five blocks will be built in total, with 195 residential units being created in phase one and a total of 964 apartments being built.

The project, which will create construction jobs, will have families in mind, as some will feature five bedrooms, reports the website.

Included in the plans are 2,084 sq m of outdoor space, including shops and health services.

These are the latest construction jobs to be created, with Liverpool seeing 800 created in a new eco-village project.

According to the Liverpool Daily Post, the jobs will be created in an £85 million scheme to create 365 homes, offices, bars and restaurants.
