Our client is the leading supplier of controlled environmental testing chambers in the UK and Eire. Operating successfully for almost 40 years, their product range offers controlled environment rooms and cabinets, incubators, blood storage equipment, fridges and freezers. They are now looking to recruit a Technical Manager to join their team.
Working closely with the Production and Service departments, as a Technical Manager you will be responsible for managing the industrial design, development and associated functions within the Technical Department. You will also be involved in the effective planning and implementation of new products as well as the enhancement and modification of existing products.
This role will also involve taking responsibility for producing design calculations and design specifications to reflect the new product, product enhancements, or customer applications as required. Additionally you will execute the design specification including quality, performance and reliability with cost reduction being the key factor for success.
To succeed as the Technical Manager you must have experience of working within a manufacturing technical environment. You must also have knowledge of software, mechanical and electrical systems, and good report producing skills.
Additionally you must have experience in the following:
- design delivery
- development of new products
- writing technical manuals
- knowledge of European and UK legislation, EMC, GS approvals
Experience of working with equipment for use in the pharmaceutical industry would be particularly beneficial, as would a degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline, and proficiency with AutoCAD.
