At BAE Systems Military Air Solutions, were responsible for producing some of the most advanced military aircraft the world has ever seen. Like the F-35 Lightning II the first (and currently only) stealthy supersonic, multi-role fighter plane. And the Herti family of Unmanned Air Vehicles, which can soar thousands of feet in the air and take thermal images of the terrain below all without a pilot on board.
As a group, we have a hand in every stage of an aircrafts development. This starts with an initial brief and carries on through a variety of design, build and test stages, before we deliver the final product. That level of involvement means we can boast a wide range of capabilities, including systems integration, manufacturing, and repair and upgrade. Weve even produced a number of military training programmes. Our customer base spans more than 30 countries worldwide.
This is an opportunity to join BAE Systems and develop your career in project management working on the development, build and support of the current and next generation of leading edge aircraft. You will have considerable experience in a complex Project Management environment in a relevant sector. You are likely to be capable of developing complex cross functional project plans and be able to effectively track and manage project costs.
Ideally will be degree qualified and professionally qualified (APMP or PMP).
You will have practical experience of applying:
- Project planning techniques
- Earned Value Management
- Cost/Schedule integration
- Risk and Opportunity Management
- Resource Integration
- Integrated Performance reporting using these PM processes.
In this role you must be capable of making decisions (sometimes based on limited information), using clear judgement and experience. Excellent communication skills are essential as this role has a very clear customer focus.
As a senior member of the project management team you will be expected to show effective leadership and may be asked to lead a team of project management professionals.
