We have an immediate requirement for a Project Manager with automation expertise for a Control Systems Integrator in the Oil & Gas industry.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the execution of the contract in order to deliver the project to the satisfaction of the client whilst maximising the profit margin for the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a primary point of contact with the client ensuring good communications with the client.
Assume primary responsibility for the control of all expenditure against the project cost code.
Act as a focal point for the Team assembled to execute the project and ensure the effective contribution of all members of the team and communications with the rest of the company.
Understand the workscope in detail. Ensure the development and maintenance of a detailed project execution plan.
Define the human and material resource requirements of the project in line with the plan and in liaison with the engineering managers. Ensure that adequate human and material resources are made available to the project.
Ensure the timesheet booking permissions for your project are kept up to date.
Monitor progress of the project workscope and ensure the accurate reporting of progress against the plan supported by the input of Engineering Managers.
Highlight areas of unsatisfactory progress to the engineering managers and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
At the start of the project develop a detailed budget and phased cost report which will define project expenditure and revenue forecasts at project launch.
Ensure the quality of work executed on the project through the promotion of a desire to perform work in a professional manner. Ensure the respect of the Company's working procedures and quality assurance and control procedures.
Ensure that Management are kept fully informed as to the progress of the project via reviews with the Projects Director and Engineering Director, supported by the timely maintenance of the Project Execution Plan, the detailed Project Cost Report and the monthly Project Review.
Qualifications:
Degree/HNC/HND in an electronic or engineering discipline and at least ten years engineering experience with process control design and/or safety system design and build.
Ten years relevant experience of medium to large scale engineering project management.
Key attributes & Requirements:
A sound understanding of project management practices with respect to planning work and monitoring progress of ongoing work.
Able to command respect and trust both internally and externally when leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers and administrators.
Commercial awareness in the execution of engineering projects and solid understanding and interpretation of engineering contracts.
Proven ability to negotiate with clients and subcontractors on commercial, contractual and technical issues.
